Help with Printer Friendly Pages
Pages indicated as “printer friendly” have been customized such that when printed in modern web browsers such as Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer version 6, will format in a manner more appropriate for printing. Markup that is not relevant when printed is removed. The following changes are typically made:
- Any background texture is replaced with plain white.
- Breadcrumb links such as “Home,” etc. are hidden.
- Any outer border is removed.
- The font size is typically reduced to 10 point—a size suitable for printed text.
- Other changes may be made so the page will format properly on 8½ x 11 or A4 sized paper.
To see how a page will look before printing it, the Print Preview option in your web browser can be used. Your browser may also have options for changing headers, footers and margins, etc.
